VALCOURT, Que. – BRP Inc. is increasing its Manitou pontoon boat manufacturing capability in Michigan in a transfer that can create near 200 new jobs and almost double its workforce within the state.
The Quebec-based firm says it’s going to start development in April to develop its current manufacturing unit in Lansing, Mich.
It can additionally add manufacturing and warehousing capability in St. Johns, Mich.
The price of the plan was not instantly obtainable.
BRP, greatest identified for its Ski-Doo snowmobiles and Sea-Doo private watercraft, acquired Manitou in 2018.
The corporate has seen its income develop through the pandemic as demand for the leisure autos it produces has soared.
